Did you just gasp and sigh in ecstasy? You did, didn’t you? Well, you’re not alone. Just in time for holiday parties, photos and an extreme need for Ahhh moments, Neos comes through for you. Experience the decadent luxury of coffee and cocoa powders united with three kinds of milk powder, oatmeal, honey dust, aloe vera leaf, rosehips, and chamomile flowers with white kaolin clay for a truly decadent facial masque. Mix our new Mocha Mama™ Dry Botanical Masque with your wetting agent of choice to form a paste. Apply to face with upward and outward strokes to cleanse and gently exfoliate. Relax with a cup of your favorite comforting beverage while the masque does its marvelous thing for your skin.
Coffee is a stimulating skin soother and a powerful vasoconstrictor AND a vasodilator, depending on what is needed and how it’s used or taken. It’s rich in antioxidants, caffeine, pantothenic acid, and is a very good source of riboflavin. In addition, it contains: Folate, Vitamin B12, Choline, Betaine, Calcium, Iron, Phosphorus, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Selenium. Coffee can ‘wake up’ skin, soothe discomfort and restore balance for a brighter skin care experience.
Cocoa is loaded with free-radical ravaging antioxidants and flavonoids. It’s rich in Vitamin E, iron, zinc, copper and magnesium. Cocoa powder is a natural source of sulfur, which is known as “the beauty mineral”. It helps reduce oiliness and clears pores making it an excellent choice for problematic or stressed skin. All this plus non-abrasive exfoliating qualities means cocoa powder is a wonderful anti-aging ingredient to include in a weekly masque.
Kaolin clay is the gentlest of all the clays. It’s a finely powdered and light natural clay suitable for all skin types and is especially friendly to sensitive skin. It offers mild and gentle exfoliation, absorbs excess oil, helps cleanse and pull unwanted substances from the skin layers.
With your choice of wetting agents, this masque is totally customizable to your skin’s needs. A few you may consider are: Plain yogurt, regular or herbal tea, aloe juice, milk or cream, egg yolk, egg white or whole egg, pureed fruit, witch hazel, water, hydrosol, fixed oil or combinations of any of these. Want a little more “scrub” with your masque? No problem. You can add your own exfoliant to a “serving” of dry masque mix before adding your wetting agent to have your own customized scrub & masque combo. I recommend no more than a 1:1 ratio of dry masque to exfoliant ratio for best results.

Our dry masques are packaged in 4 oz jars to the top rim of the jar shoulder. We have hand-filled a jar to the rim of the jar shoulder with each dry masque formula individually, tapping it down gently on the counter to remove as much air as possible and help settle the fluff of the dry product that happens when filling. We do not pack the powder tight, but rather keep it loose enough to spoon out easily and prevent clumping. We then weigh the contents to get an average weight for the dry product so we can assign a net weight. This net weight is purposely marked slightly under the average weight across the board for the dry masques. This is what goes on the labels. We do this to avoid having to weigh each jar of dry masque product individually at time of order and to have our labels printed and ready to use with a consistent net weight given as required by law, staying within federal packaging and labeling laws regarding product contents size/amount. When you receive your jar, settling may have occurred since time of packaging, leaving additional head room in the jar and the product not to the very top rim. This is normal with light, airy, dry products and is not an indication of missing or shorted product in the container.
