Description

With highly prized tan illite clay and gentle kaolin clay coupled with rice and oat powders,  Neos Skin Care’s Autumn Silk™ Dry Botanical Masque carries rich mineral content with a propensity for absorption while it helps exfoliate and balance skin. We step up the beneficial luxury by carefully and intentionally including nutrient-laden powdered pumpkin seed and the soothing skin support of calendula flowers. Of course we can’t stop there.  A belle deserves all the goodness we can offer.  So we pump up the pamper with the silky feel and skin softening of powdered cornsilk, hydrating aloe vera leaf, the soothing beautifying abilities of honey powder and the gentle buffing of bamboo powder. For an added boost of nourishing moisture and replenishment, we toss in some safflower oil powder for even more decadence.

Our dry botanical masques are easily personalized with the wetting medium of your choice to fit your current skin needs and areas of attention. Teas, coffee, fruit or veggie juice, milk, yogurt, hydrosol, water, fixed oil. Whatever your skin calls out for that day can be readily mixed with a single masque application to work belle magic like a pro. Or better yet, try our Buff N’ Beauty™ Masque Mixer.

Fun Fact

Illite clays are a non-expanding clay crystalline mineral falling under the heading of “a group of mica-type clay minerals widely distributed in marine shales and related sediments”. Sporting various colors dependent upon location of origin and content, illite clays are rich in active minerals, containing silicium, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorous, manganese, copper, selenium and several essential mineral oxides, as well as a small percentage of montmorillonite. Unlike other clays, illite clays do not swell with the addition of water and other liquids. But they are highly absorbent with a higher capacity for absorbing moisture than other clays, coming in at around 30% absorbency capacity. This reportedly gives them a higher drying and detoxifying effect that’s less drawing while being a powerful tool for specific skin response from the mineral content.

Helpful How-To

In a small bowl, mix about 0.5 -1.5 teaspoons dry masque with enough wetting medium of choice to form a spreadable paste with the desired thickness and consistency. Stir well until thoroughly mixed and smooth. Wide craft sticks or plastic spoons work well for this and are washable and reusable. Apply masque to face and neck using your fingertips or a fan brush cosmetic applicator. Use upward and outward circular strokes. Sit back, relax and let the masque work its magic as it dries for approximately 15-20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Follow with a tepid cool splash of water then pat dry. Admire your reflection in the mirror. Well now. Aren’t you just a lovely belle? Feel the softness and smoothness of your face and neck. Nice, isn’t it? Go meet the world face to face with a smile and a glow. You are a beautiful belle!
